Hard Rock Memorabilia Site with Deep Zoom

Browse through thousands of pieces of Rock-n-Roll memorabilia in the Hard Rock collection!  Hard Rock just launched the Hard Rock Memorabilia site using Silverlight 2 "Deep Zoom" technology, allowing you to zoom in seamlessly and see incredible detail like fingerprints and photographer's reflections on the pieces in the collection.

We interviewed the crew that built this experience, including the Duncan of Duncan/Channon, Hard Rock, and Scott Stansfield of Vertigo.  Watch the video to hear how Hard Rock approaches branding, and how they designed and built this amazing web site.

If you just want to see the site, you can skip all the way to 8:53.

Nice touch. This is really a neat thing for SeaDragon. And can we see this for the Library of Congress, for user photos, and other catalogs of historical documents? This beats having to go to the archives building to look up a document.

Can we see this in Office too? Isn't it already kind of there with the awesome page zoom in Office 07'?

I hope the SeaDragon team finishes up their project and let other developers play with it.

The interviewer seems a little self-centric, but the interview is relaxed. Finally gets to the tech at 8:50 odd.

In terms of Rock & Roll- there was a recent Guardian article, about how it used recently to be acknowledged a lot more by bands. Hopefully it will be again.
