Activities and WebSlices are two of the most exciting new features in IE8.  Watch Jane Kim explain how these features bring the power of mashups to the browser, and how you can tie your web site or service into IE8's chrome using only web standards and no custom C++ code.

Download the developer beta today, and get started building Activities and WebSlices!  You can find technical details on developing Web Slices and Activities at the MSDN developer center.

For a broad overview of many of the new features in IE8, check out the demo of IE8 and interview with Matt Lapsen over on Channel 10.  And Chris Wilson drills into the architecture of IE8 over Channel 9.

Wow. Great job. Nice interview. She's even a good speaker compared to the other usual employees. I'm still hoping for:

1. Skins support

2. Easier to create add-ons

3. Support for other OS's

4. Mobile version (Deepfish/WinMo?)

5. Live "Tab" Thumbnails (think Opera)

6. Most of the goodies long available in IE7 Pro

7. Tabbing History

8. Better inline search

9. View web page source code (think Opera)

10. Fancier looking zoom control (Think Office 07' like)

Keep up the good work IE8 team. I couldn't help but notice that the "Activities" feature had a precursor before it : http://labs.live.com/Entity+Extraction.aspx
